Systems And Methods For Generating Optical Energy Using A Light-Emitting Diode

US Patent:
7671539, Mar 2, 2010
Filed:
Jan 3, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/649142
Inventors:
Mark A. Mentzer - Lititz PA, US
Nicholas P. Petrillo - New Cumberland PA, US
Wayne A. Webb - Lancaster PA, US
Assignee:
Advanced Precision Inc. - Mechanicsburg PA
International Classification:
H05B 37/02
US Classification:
315149, 315151, 315157, 315291
Abstract:
Systems for providing optical energy comprise an LED, a detector of optical energy, such as a photodiode, that measures the intensity of optical energy emitted by the light-emitting diode, and a controller. The controller adjusts the intensity of the optical energy emitted by the LED based on the intensity measurement provide by the photodiode, to maintain the intensity of the emitted optical energy at a desired level.

Systems And Methods For Determining Level And/Or Type Of A Fluid

US Patent:
7710567, May 4, 2010
Filed:
Jan 30, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/668624
Inventors:
Mark A. Mentzer - Lititz PA, US
Nicholas P. Petrillo - New Cumberland PA, US
Wayne A. Webb - Lancaster PA, US
Brian S. Trostle - York Springs PA, US
Assignee:
Strube, Inc. - Marietta PA
International Classification:
G01N 21/00
G01N 21/59
US Classification:
356436, 356432, 250577, 73293
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for determining the density and/or temperature of a fluid based on the manner in which optical energy is affected as the optical energy propagates across a gap between opposing end faces of optical waveguides, or the manner in which the optical energy is reflected from interfaces of optical waveguides and the fluid.

Methods And Systems For Detecting And/Or Determining The Concentration Of A Fluid

US Patent:
7768646, Aug 3, 2010
Filed:
Feb 1, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/670157
Inventors:
Mark A. Mentzer - Lititz PA, US
Nicholas P. Petrillo - New Cumberland PA, US
Wayne A. Webb - Lancaster PA, US
Assignee:
Advanced Precision Inc. - Mechanicsburg PA
International Classification:
G01N 21/00
US Classification:
356436
Abstract:
Methods and systems detect the presence of a fluid, such as water, based on a reflection of optical energy from the fluid. Methods and systems also determine the concentration of a constituent element in a mixture based on a reflection of optical energy from the mixture.

Electrical Connector With One End Threadably Connected To A Junction Box And Other End Configured To Be Connected To A Mating Electrical Connector

US Patent:
7955125, Jun 7, 2011
Filed:
Oct 14, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/904652
Inventors:
Nicholas P. Petrillo - New Cumberland PA, US
Timothy Wickard - Carlisle PA, US
Assignee:
Souriau USA, Inc. - York PA
International Classification:
H01R 13/60
US Classification:
439535
Abstract:
A versatile modular connector and a conduit system which is easily used and installed by electricians and non-electricians in the field are described. The components, such as the junction box, outlet boxes and bridge cables can be prewired and easily added to the system by using the quick connect connectors to allow for a stable and sealed system.

Electro-Optic Fluid Quantity Measurement System

US Patent:
8362436, Jan 29, 2013
Filed:
Mar 14, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/686254
Inventors:
Mark A. Mentzer - Lititz PA, US
Nicholas P. Petrillo - New Cumberland PA, US
Wayne A. Webb - Lancaster PA, US
Assignee:
Advanced Precision Inc. - Mechanicsburg PA
International Classification:
G01T 1/20
G01F 23/00
US Classification:
25036301, 2503571
Abstract:
Systems and methods determine the level, density, and/or temperature of a fluid based on the fluorescence of a material within an optical waveguide slab at least partially immersed in the fluid.

Methods And Systems For Determining The Density And/Or Temperature Of Fluids
