I moved to Lincoln County in 1994, fresh out of college at St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas. My career in journalism, publicity and marketing has made me an expert on the area, and I have come to know all kinds of people from all walks of life. I have researched and written about every attraction and feature from Midtown Ruidoso to the river valley and from Ruidoso Downs Race Track to the yucca flats of Carrizozo. Each community is unique, and I love them all for different reasons. I am particularly connected to the arts community. I am a performing artist myself, as well as a writer. It’s not unusual to see me on stage around here in a play or singing with a band. As arts editor for the Ruidoso News and publisher of my own arts and entertainment magazine, I really enjoyed introducing new artists to the fascinating people and locales that make Lincoln County special. My experience interviewing artists honed another skill useful in real estate – listening and understanding.
