Apparatus For Removing And Replacing Coil Springs And Fasteners

US Patent:
6434807, Aug 20, 2002
Filed:
Aug 2, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/631012
Inventors:
Paul Begin - Pascoag RI, 02859
International Classification:
B23P 1904
US Classification:
29227, 29240, 269 3
Abstract:
An apparatus for removing coil springs having a first upright handle member terminating on its upper end with a threaded drive block for accommodating a steel screw threadable through the drive block and movable along the threaded shaft. There is provided a first spring block secured to the upper face of the drive block for accommodating a first end of a coil spring. There is a second spring block on an end portion of the steel drive screw for accommodating the second end of the coil spring, so that rotation of the drive screw expands or retracts the distance between the first and second spring blocks, and would expand or retract the spring in sufficient distance to remove or replace the spring. There is further provided a guide plate below the second spring block, having a slot for accommodating a first bar for pushing or pulling a spring out of engagement and for accommodating a second bar having a member for pushing or pulling a spring out of engagement or pulling a cotter pin out of engagement. There is further provided spring engagement members slidably mounting both spring blocks that compress a spring on a rod.

Multi-Roller Paint Applicator System

US Patent:
6045282, Apr 4, 2000
Filed:
Nov 26, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/978708
Inventors:
Paul Begin - Pascoag RI
International Classification:
B05C 100
US Classification:
401197
Abstract:
A tri-roller painting assembly having a main body portion, including a lower handle portion and an upper roller support portion. The upper roller support portion supports a first roller rotationally mounted along the face of the upper support surface, which rotates but is stationary along its rotational axis. There is further provided a pair of movable arms mounted to the upper face portion of the system, with each of the arms movable between a first closed position and a second open position. Each of the arms further includes a roller extending perpendicular therefrom, with the rollers extending therefrom positioned in parallel relation and perpendicular to the first roller. There is further provided a trigger member on the handle so that when the trigger member is squeezed by the user of the apparatus, the movable arms are moved from the first end position to the second out position so that the pair of rollers may accommodate various widths of boards or the like. There is further provided a spring or expandable member, interconnecting the two arms so that when the trigger member is released, the two arms are pulled toward the closed position by the spring member for being held firmly against the sides of the surface to be painted. Further, there is provided a paint delivery system which includes a single paint feed line extending through the handle member and diverging into three separate lines with a first line feeding paint to the core of the first stationary roller member, and the second and third lines feeding paint into the core of each of the parallel roller members, thus enabling the user of the apparatus to paint varying widths of boards or type surfaces, which can adjust automatically to the different widths of the surfaces and can have a continuous paint feed into the system so that painting can continue without having to be interrupted during the painting process.

Power Drive Multiple Socket Wrench

US Patent:
5630343, May 20, 1997
Filed:
Dec 5, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/567670
Inventors:
Paul Begin - Pascoag RI
International Classification:
B25B 1700
US Classification:
81 5746
Abstract:
An improved power socket wrench which includes a handle portion and a power drive portion. The handle portion further provides an internal drive shaft extending through the handle portion, for engaging, tangentially, a geared drive gear in the power drive portion of the wrench. The drive gear further provides a laterally extending hub member which is able to accommodate a plurality of interchangeable sockets, metric and non-metric, during use without having to interchange parts in the power drive portion. Upon rotation of the internal drive shaft, the drive gear within the power drive portion imparts rotation to the socket, for tightening or loosening the bolt or nut in question. The wrench of the present invention further comprising an improvement over the prior art in that a single ball bearing located within the wrench adjustably constrains the axial motion and force of the drive shaft when the wrench is operated in a drive direction, and oil light bronze fittings constrain the axial motion and force of the drive shaft when in is operated in a reverse direction.
