Container Refrigeration Monitoring Systems And Methods

US Patent:
2020024, Jul 30, 2020
Filed:
Jan 27, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/773119
Inventors:
- Sidney OH, US
Abram A. YORDE - Englewood OH, US
Paul L. FULLENKAMP - Versailles OH, US
Assignee:
Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc. - Sidney OH
International Classification:
F25B 49/02
Abstract:
A system for monitoring health of refrigerated storage containers includes an instantaneous health module configured to determine instantaneous health values for a refrigerated storage container based on parameters measured by sensors of a refrigeration system of the refrigerated storage container during a trip of the refrigerated storage container. A statistics module is configured to, after completion of the trip of the refrigerated storage container, determine statistical values based on the instantaneous health values determined for the trip. A health module is configured to determine an overall health value for the refrigerated storage container at the completion of the trip based on the statistical values and to store the overall health value for the refrigerated storage container in memory in association with a unique identifier of the refrigerated storage container.

Low Charge Detection System For Cooling Systems

US Patent:
2020019, Jun 18, 2020
Filed:
Feb 24, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/799156
Inventors:
- Sidney OH, US
Paul L. FULLENKAMP - Versailles OH, US
Fadi M. ALSALEEM - Omaha NE, US
Assignee:
Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc. - Sidney OH
International Classification:
F25B 45/00
F25B 49/02
F25B 13/00
F25B 49/00
Abstract:
Systems and methods that detect a loss of charge associated with a climate controlled environment are described in the present disclosure. In various embodiments, a controller receives operating condition parameters associated with a climate-controlled environment. The controller determines whether a compressor is operating in a first mode of operation or a second mode of operation. The controller applies a first model to the operating condition parameters when the compressor is operating in the first mode of operation to represent a loss of charge associated with the climate-controlled environment and applies a second model to the operating condition parameters when the compressor is operating in the second mode of operation to represent the loss of charge associated with the climate-controlled environment.

F25B 5/02
F25B 49/02
Abstract:
A system includes a system controller for a refrigeration or HVAC system having a compressor rack with at least one compressor and a condensing unit with at least one condenser fan. The system includes a rack controller for the compressor rack. The rack controller is in communication with the system controller. The system includes a condensing unit controller for the condensing unit. The condensing unit controller is in communication with the system controller. The system controller receives component identification information identifying components of the compressor rack and the condensing unit, retrieves component information including at least one of component specification information, component capacity information, and component capability information, based on the component identification information, and performs setup operations based on the component information.

Filed:
Nov 21, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/819742
Inventors:
- Kennesaw GA, US
Franklin Beltran - Acworth GA, US
Frank S. Wallis - Sidney OH, US
Paul L. Fullenkamp - Versailles OH, US
Karen Richard - Versailles OH, US
Assignee:
Emerson Climate Technologies Retail Solutions, Inc. - Kennesaw GA
International Classification:
G05B 23/02
G05B 19/048
F25D 29/00
Abstract:
A system and a method are provided including a controller for a refrigeration or HVAC system having a compressor rack with at least one compressor. The controller communicates with a tracking module configured to diagnose health of a compressor in the compressor rack. In response to rated performance data for the compressor being unavailable, the tracking module is configured to generate baseline data for the compressor and to diagnose health of the compressor by comparing operational data of the compressor to the baseline data for the compressor. In response to the rated performance data for the compressor being available, the tracking module is configured to diagnose health of the compressor by comparing the operational data of the compressor to the rated performance data for the compressor.
