Abstract:
Devices for cleaning the human tongue and methods for making such devices are disclosed. The tongue cleaner may include a tongue brush and a tongue scraper. The tongue cleaner may be of unitary injection molded construction. The tongue cleaner bristles may be tapered to a point for cleaning crevices of a human tongue, and the bristles may be angled or curved. The tongue scraper contains at least one blade for removal of undesirable material from the tongue by a scraping action. Abstract:
Compositions for a foaming oral cleaner and related methods and products are disclosed. In one such method, a foaming oral cleaner may be dispensed onto a cleaning surface of a tongue cleaning device in a manner to foam the foaming oral cleaner. A surface of the tongue may be brushed using a tongue brush of the tongue cleaning device, thereby applying the foaming oral cleaner to the surface of the tongue. The brushing of the surface of the tongue can dislodge and loosen material on the surface of the tongue. The surface of the tongue can be scraped using a tongue scraper of the tongue cleaning device to scrape dislodged and loosened material from the surface of the tongue. The foaming oral cleaner may be a composition comprising water, a foaming agent, a sweetener, a flavoring agent, an antimicrobial agent comprising a biologically active enzyme, a preservative, and a coloring agent.

A method of increasing blood glucose levels while metabolizing body fat. The method includes the steps of subjecting the individual to conditions where they start to use body fat as an energy source and administering a biologically active gluconeogenic compound to the individual. The preferred compound is calcium propionate; however, other salts of propionic acid, propionic acid itself, and non-essential amino acids may be used. A tongue brush includes bristles that emanate from a front surface of the head of the tongue brush and a tongue scraper that emanates from the opposing rear surface of the head of the tongue brush. Abstract:
A toothbrush can include tufted bristles and tongue brush bristles that emanate from the same surface of the head. The tufted bristles can function primarily to clean the teeth whereas the tongue brush bristles can function primarily to clean the surface of the tongue. The tongue brush bristles can also insert between teeth and along the gum line when the toothbrush is used to brush the teeth thereby enhancing the toothbrush's effectiveness for removing bacteria, food particles, and/or soft plaque from the teeth.
