An example method can include: providing an online game on a mobile device configured to determine global position information for the mobile device; determining that an approximate location for the mobile device corresponds to a target geographical region; sending a request to a user of the mobile device to share the global position information for the mobile device; detecting that the user is sharing the global position information for the mobile device; confirming, based on the shared global position information, that the mobile device is within the target geographical region; and providing an enhanced version of the online game on the mobile device.
