Abstract:
A method and system for transferring contact information and calendar events (FIG. ) to a wireless device (FIG. ) via e-mail (FIG. ) are described. In one embodiment, the method comprises providing for one or more contacts (FIG. ) to be included in an e-mail message (FIG. ) addressed to a unique e-mail address (FIG. ). The e-mail message is received at a server (FIG. ) associated with the unique e-mail address. The one or more contacts are extracted from the e-mail message (FIG. ). A wireless device to send the one or more contacts to (FIG. ) is determined by extracting delivery data contained in the e-mail message (FIG. ). One or more messages formatted specifically for the wireless device are generated (FIG. ), wherein the one or more messages contain the one or more contacts (FIG. ). The server checks if the wireless device is registered with the server (FIG. ); and sends the one or more messages to the wireless device if the wireless device is registered with the server (FIG. ).

The present disclosure relates to techniques of configuring a layout of graphical objects for display. In one example process, the device detects a scroll request and determines whether the scroll request meets predetermined criteria. If the scroll request meets the criteria, the device configures the layout of graphical objects that are to be displayed once the display is scrolled so that the graphical objects are arranged on the display differently than the arrangement in which the graphical objects would have been displayed, had the layout not been configured. If the scroll request does not meet the criteria, the device forgoes the configuration of the layout of graphical objects.
