Philosophy:
Patients want to know how much you "care" before they care how much you "know." Caring and compassion comes first with us! We see newborns to retirees, acute injuries to the severely chronic. We strive to go beyond in patient education as people get better when they know "what" is going on in order to be a part of the "why" to their healing process. Educated patients get better faster, and stay that way longer rather than being dependent upon us.

Pressure Cycle Operated Perforating Firing Head

US Patent:
8006779, Aug 30, 2011
Filed:
Feb 18, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/372873
Inventors:
Randall S. Moore - Carrollton TX, US
John H. Hales - Frisco TX, US
Assignee:
Halliburton Energy Services, Inc. - Houston TX
International Classification:
E21B 43/116
US Classification:
175 456, 166374
Abstract:
Pressure cycle operated apparatus and methods. A method of actuating a firing head includes the steps of: reciprocably displacing an actuator piston of the firing head, the displacing step including the piston being alternately pressure balanced and unbalanced; and igniting a combustible material in response to the piston displacing step. A method of generating electricity includes: reciprocably displacing a piston, the displacing step including the piston being alternately pressure balanced and unbalanced; and generating electricity in response to the piston displacing step. A firing head includes an actuator piston separating at least two chambers; a check valve which permits one-way flow between the chambers; a flow restrictor which restricts flow between the chambers; a biasing device which biases the piston toward one of the chambers; and a firing pin releasing device which releases a firing pin in response to displacement of the piston.

Selectable, Internally Oriented And/Or Integrally Transportable Explosive Assemblies

US Patent:
2012024, Oct 4, 2012
Filed:
Apr 1, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/078423
Inventors:
Timothy G. SCHACHERER - Lewisville TX, US
Marvin G. BATRES - Cypress TX, US
Tommy THAMMAVONGSA - Houston TX, US
Randall S. MOORE - Carrollton TX, US
Assignee:
HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC. - Houston TX
International Classification:
E21B 43/11
E21B 19/00
E21B 29/02
US Classification:
166297, 166 63, 166378
Abstract:
A system can include multiple explosive assemblies, each assembly comprising an outer housing, an explosive component rotatable relative to the housing, and a selective firing module which causes detonation of the component in response to a predetermined signal. A method can include assembling multiple explosive assemblies at a location remote from a well, installing a selective firing module, an electrical detonator and an explosive component in a connector, and connecting the connector to an outer housing, and then transporting the assemblies from the remote location to the well. A well perforating method can include assembling multiple perforating guns, each gun comprising a gun body, a perforating charge, and a selective firing module which causes detonation of the charge in response to a predetermined signal. The guns are installed in a wellbore, with the charge of each gun rotating relative to the respective gun body.

Method And Apparatus For Actuating A Differential Pressure Firing Head

US Patent:
2014000, Jan 9, 2014
Filed:
Apr 11, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/817038
Inventors:
Randall S. Moore - Carrollton TX, US
Assignee:
HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC. - Houston TX
International Classification:
E21B 43/1185
US Classification:
166297, 175 2
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are presented for actuating a differential pressure firing head to actuate a perforating gun at a downhole location in a subterranean wellbore adjacent a formation. An exemplary method includes positioning the perforating gun and the differential pressure firing head at a downhole location on a tubing string and then communicating an applied fluid pressure to a wellbore annulus, a first chamber which communicates the applied fluid pressure to a low-pressure side of the firing head assembly, and a second fluid chamber which communicates the applied fluid pressure to a high-pressure side of the firing head assembly. The applied fluid pressure is then trapped within the second fluid chamber. When the applied pressure in the annulus is subsequently removed, a pressure differential is created across the firing head by the low pressure in the first chamber and the trapped applied pressure in the second chamber.

Apparatus For Increasing The Blend And Charge Of The Fuel-Air Mixture For An Engine

US Patent:
4116187, Sep 26, 1978
Filed:
Aug 29, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/828263
Inventors:
Randall J. Moore - Loveland CO
International Classification:
F02M 2906
US Classification:
123141
Abstract:
Apparatus for improving the mixing or blending of the charge of fuel and air to an internal combustion engine and for increasing the quantity of the fuel-air charge to the engine. A rotor member, having a sealing blade and at least one blade member which is angled with respect to a radial reference through the axis of the rotor, is rotated in a housing to draw a portion of the fuel-air charge from a carburetor, to increase the quantity of that portion, to create turbulence in the flow of the fuel-air mixture and to more thoroughly blend the fuel with the air before the mixture is delivered to the cylinder intake of an internal combustion engine.
