A luminaire with enhanced thermal dissipation characteristics is disclosed. The luminaire may comprise a housing having a first external housing segment and a second external housing segment, the first and second external housing segments being spaced apart to provide an annular opening between the segments. A light source may be positioned at least partially within the first external housing segment, and a heat exchanger may be positioned at least partially within the second external housing segment. The luminaire described herein provides a light source with enhanced thermal dissipation features in an aesthetically pleasing package.

Abstract:
A bracket device for mounting a light fixture comprising a flat grooved element and a flat cover to conceal and protect the electrical conductors powering the light source inside the lighting fixture is disclosed. When configured to swivel, the bracket device allows for adjustment of the light fixture without introducing significant wear or strain to the electrical conductors passing through the interior portion of the device. This bracket device is thin, compact and of very neat and simple appearance. Because of its thinness and its compact shape this device conceals and its main element can be made to have the same thickness as a prior art mechanical bracket element, which would not normally carry electrical conductors.

Abstract:
A recessed down-light fixture having a housing with a light source aperture, a control gear assembly containing control gear, and a guidance system that allows the control gear assembly to slide and align with the light source aperture. The aperture enables passage of a light source through a barrier such as a ceiling. The housing includes a latching or locking device for release and passage of components through the aperture for maintenance or re-lamping. The control gear assembly, or internal wiring compartment, includes a stop that secures the shuttle in a position above the aperture. The control gear assembly can then be detached and pass through the aperture, providing access to electrical components and splices within the assembly. A trim ring having a concealable surface is mounted around the aperture to increase the structural integrity of the aperture, allow for plastering and painting, and to provide a finished appearance.
