Disclosed herein are systems, computer-implemented methods, and tangible computer-readable storage media for wide field imaging interferometry. The method includes for each point in a two dimensional detector array over a field of view of an image: gathering a first interferogram from a first detector and a second interferogram from a second detector, modulating a path-length for a signal from an image associated with the first interferogram in the first detector, overlaying first data from the modulated first detector and second data from the second detector, and tracking the modulating at every point in a two dimensional detector array comprising the first detector and the second detector over a field of view for the image. The method then generates a widefield data cube based on the overlaid first data and second data for each point. The method can generate an image from the widefield data cube.

An optical telescope system, method of actively, adaptively providing optical control to an array of articulated mirrors in a sparse aperture in the optical telescope system and a computer program product therefor. Array apertures are selected sequentially for imaging. Each aperture is temporally modulating at a unique/different frequency and, simultaneously, focal plane images are detected for each array aperture with known and separable temporal dependencies. The images are processed for the current set of said focal plane images to detect an image wavefront. The feeding back wavefront errors are fed back to aperture actuators for controlling the array.

A flow meter (10) employs phased arrays (14a, 14b, 16a, 16b, 18a, 18b, 20a, and 20b) of ultrasonic transducers mounted on the exterior of a pipe (12) to transmit and receive sound directed through paths that pass through the pipe interior. The flow meter (10) determines the rate of fluid flow through the pipe (12) by comparing the sound-propagation times for sound traveling the same paths in opposite directions. By driving the transducers as phased arrays, the flow meter (10) can employ sound-propagation paths that form angles to the normal to the interior pipe wall that exceed those dictated by Snell's law as applied to the relative propagation speeds in the pipe wall and the fluid.
