Abstract:
The present invention relates to a thermoplastic/natural cellulosic fiber composite, and more specifically to a high molecular weight compatibilizer within that composite resulting in both a high flex strength and high modulus and significant reduction in water absorption. The compatibilizer is preferably a terpolymer comprising: a) 0.5-20 percent by weight of monomer units selected from the group consisting of maleic anhydride, substituted maleic anhydride, mono-ester of maleic anhydride, itaconic anhydride, maleic acid, fumaric acid, crotonic acid, acrylic acid and methacrylic acid; b) 0 to 40 percent by weight of monomer units selected from styrene and functionalized styrene; and c) 40 to 98.5 percent by weight of monomer units selected from the group consisting of Calkyl acrylates and methacrylates, and vinyl acetate.

Methods For Detackifying Paint Spray Booth Water

US Patent:
5614103, Mar 25, 1997
Filed:
Dec 13, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/354690
Inventors:
Howard B. Agree - Newtown PA
Jen-Chi Chen - Morrisville PA

Reactive Silane Composition And Process For Enhanced Drainage Of Residual Aqueous Rinse On The External Surfaces Of Plastic Parts

US Patent:
5354494, Oct 11, 1994
Filed:
Jan 21, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/823217
Inventors:
Barry P. Gunagan - Hatboro PA
Jeffrey I. Melzer - Lansdale PA
Edward A. Rodzewich - Flourtown PA
Robert A. Iezzi - Vincentown NJ

US Classification:
25217415
Abstract:
Processes for enhancing the drainage of residual aqueous rinse from the external surfaces of plastic parts, such as auto fascia, are disclosed. The processes employ an aqueous solution of an amine functional silane compound, which when applied to the surfaces of plastic parts will not rinse off during subsequent rinse stages and will remain on the plastic parts.

Method Of Electroplating A Corrosion-Resistant Zinc-Containing Deposit

US Patent:
4470897, Sep 11, 1984
Filed:
Sep 20, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/534009
Inventors:
