Filed:
Dec 21, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/975056
Inventors:
Martin Boliek - San Francisco CA, US
Robert D. Widergren - Campbell CA, US

US Classification:
719318, 711115, 711E12001
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for collecting and exchanging data are disclosed. In one embodiment, the apparatus comprises a non-volatile memory device, which includes an interface for coupling the non-volatile memory device to a host system; non-volatile memory for storing data, including a plurality of executables at least two of which are executable on different operating systems or devices. The plurality of executables includes a data collection executable and a data transfer executable. The non-volatile memory device also includes a controller to cause execution of at least one executable in the plurality of executables, including the data collection executable and the data transfer executable, where execution of the data collection executable causes data to be collected and stored in the non-volatile memory, and execution of which causes the collected data to be transferred to a location external to the non-volatile memory device.

Content Distribution Systems And Methods

US Patent:
2013008, Mar 28, 2013
Filed:
Sep 27, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/246695
Inventors:

Wayne S. Hossenlopp - Los Gatos CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 15/16
US Classification:
709217
Abstract:
A content dispensing device includes memory storing one or more executable programs, each of the programs compatible with a respective operating system, each executable program for enabling performance of a data set on a respective presentation system. The memory stores a plurality of data sets, each configured for presentation by a respective presentation system. Each data set includes at least one attribute securely linking the data set to one of the executable programs. The device also includes at least one interface configured to transfer information to a protected memory device, the protected memory device configured to directly couple to the content dispensing device. The information transferred to the protected memory device includes at least one portion of a data set of the plurality of data sets, and an executable program of the one or more executable programs that is compatible with the operating system of the presentation system.
