Filed:
Dec 5, 2022
Appl. No.:
18/074675
Inventors:
- Wallingford CT, US
Hai Qun Hong - Jiangxi, CN
Robert L. Romerein - Ontario, CA
Rong Hui Li - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
H04N 7/10
H04L 12/64
H04L 12/00
H04L 12/28
H04L 12/66
Abstract:
A Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) gateway splitter that includes a directional coupler (including a first transmission path and a second transmission path), a gateway port and a cable television (CATV) input port each electrically connected to the first transmission path, and a MoCA port electrically connected to the second transmission path such that the MoCA port is isolated from the CATV input port and coupled to the gateway port. Multiple MoCA ports may be electrically connected to the second transmission path (e.g., via a resistive splitter). The second transmission path may be electrically connected to ground. The MoCA gateway splitter may include multiple (e.g., two or three) gateway ports, each electrically connected to the CATV input port via a directional coupler (and, e.g., one or more hybrid splitters). In those embodiments, each directional coupler may be electrically connected to the MoCA port(s), for example, via a common microstrip node.

Provider Equipment Identification

US Patent:
2023001, Jan 19, 2023
Filed:
Jul 14, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/864821
Inventors:
- Wallingford CT, US
Robert L. ROMEREIN - Peterborough, CA
Rong Hui LI - Brooklyn NY, US
Hai Qun HONG - Jiangxi, CN
International Classification:
H04W 48/10
Abstract:
A provider equipment identification (ID) device includes a provider equipment with a plurality of output ports and an ID beacon device. The provider equipment is configured to perform a signal processing operation on an input signal and deliver an output signal to one or more of the output ports. The ID beacon device is coupled to the provider equipment. The ID beacon device is configured to output at least one pilot beacon signal which is receivable by each of the output ports to electrically excite each of the output ports such that the at least one pilot beacon signal is introduced in the output signal to generate an altered output signal capable of identifying the provider equipment.

Active Moca Gateway Splitter

US Patent:
2018028, Oct 4, 2018
Filed:
Nov 8, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/806411
Inventors:
- Wallingford CT, US
Jay Shapson - Millstone Township NJ, US
Matthew M. Shapson - Robbinsville NJ, US
Robert L. Romerein - Peterborough, CA
Rong H. Li - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
H04N 21/426
H04N 21/61
Abstract:
An active MoCA (Multimedia over Coax Alliance) gateway splitter device, including a CATV input port for receiving a CATV input signal, an amplifier for amplifying the CATV signal, at least one MoCA port (connectable to a MoCA device), a plurality of modem/gateway ports (each connectable to a modem or gateway device); and a diplex filter that includes a low-pass filter section and a high-pass filter section. The CATV input port is electrically connected to the modem/gateway ports via the low-pass filter section and the MoCA port is electrically connected to the modem/gateway ports via the high-pass filter section. Accordingly, the MoCA device can communicate bidirectionally with the modem/gateway devices over a higher frequency band, the modem/gateway devices can communicate bidirectionally with the CATV input port over a lower frequency band, and the MoCA device is electrically isolated from the CATV input port.
