Lead Delivery, Fixation And Extraction Devices And Methods For Use With Intravascular Implantable Medical Devices

US Patent:
2009019, Aug 6, 2009
Filed:
Feb 6, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/367475
Inventors:
Terrance Ransbury - Chapel Hill NC, US
Ryan McCormick - Durham NC, US
International Classification:
A61B 19/00
US Classification:
606129
Abstract:
A lead delivery and fixation device for use with an intravascular implantable device includes a sidecar having a selectively retractable fixation element. A lead is releasably coupled to the sidecar, with an electrode portion exposed for delivering a stimulation therapy. A manipulable catheter is coupled to the fixation element and configured to advance and withdraw a helix portion of the fixation element. The catheter and fixation element are offset from and generally parallel to the lead. The lead is separable from the sidecar in the event that extraction is required.

Predictive Qrs Detection And R-To-R Timing Systems And Methods

US Patent:
2022028, Sep 15, 2022
Filed:
Mar 29, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/707424
Inventors:
- Raleigh NC, US
Ryan Daniel McCormick - Durham NC, US
Douglas Edward Ivers - Cary NC, US
Cranos M. Williams - Raleigh NC, US
Divyakumar Mahiman Badheka - Raleigh NC, US
Sai Bhargav Dasari - Raleigh NC, US
Shamim Samadi - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
A61M 60/50
A61B 5/316
A61B 5/352
A61M 60/135
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed towards systems and methods built for predictively timing the inflation and/or deflation of an intra-aortic balloon pump. A controller operates in three states: (1) initialization state, (2) learning state, and (3) peak detection state. The controller decomposes a patient's electrocardiogram signal to a power signal. It then learns characteristics of the patient's electrocardiogram signal during the learning state and computes adaptive threshold parameter values. During the peak detection state, the controller applies the learnt threshold parameter values on a current electrocardiogram signal to identify occurrence and timings of R peaks in the electrocardiogram signal. The R-to-R peak timings are then used to trigger inflation of an intra-aortic balloon pump.

Methods And Systems For Deposition Of Blended Polymer Films

US Patent:
2017028, Oct 5, 2017
Filed:
Sep 4, 2015
Appl. No.:
15/507290
Inventors:
- Durham NC, US
Ryan D. McCormick - Durham NC, US
International Classification:
B05D 3/06
C08J 5/18
H01S 3/16
B05D 1/00
B01F 3/08
Abstract:
Methods and systems for deposition of blended polymer films are disclosed. According to an aspect a method of producing a film on a substrate includes combining a guest material, a host matrix, and a solvent having one or more hydroxyl (O—H) bonds to form a target emulsion. The method also includes exposing the target emulsion to an infrared source that is tuned to an absorption peak in the host matrix that is reduced in or absent from the guest material thereby desorbing the host matrix from the target emulsion and lifting the guest material from the surface of the target emulsion. The target emulsion and the substrate are oriented with respect to each other such that the lifted guest material is deposited as a film upon the substrate.
