In one embodiment, the optical channel processing unit is implemented as an optical switch () for interfacing any of various multichannel input ports () with any of various multichannel output ports (). The illustrated switch () includes a two-dimensional array of input ports () and a two-dimensional array of output ports (). An input signal () is transmitted via a spectral device () to an input movable mirror array (). A signal transmitted by an output port () is transmitted via a spectral device () to mirrors () of an output mirror movable mirror array (). Each mirror of each array (and ) is movable to target any selected mirror of the opposing array (or ). The arrays (and ) thereby support full multichannel switching functionality for more than two channels.

Plant Oil Extract Device And Method For Using The Same

US Patent:
2011010, May 5, 2011
Filed:
Oct 22, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/910365
Inventors:
Samuel S. Miller - San Francisco CA, US
International Classification:
B01D 35/00
US Classification:
210236
Abstract:
A plant oil extraction device that has a main body member with a hollow interior that receives a plant. A filter member is removably mounted on the main body and has a groove therein that receives glass frit. Thus, when a solvent is placed in the hollow interior with the plant the glass frit filters the plant particulate allowing plant oil and solvent to flow into a receiving vessel. Once the oil is collected the filter member may be removed from the main body such that the glass frit can be cleaned of all plant particulate and be reused.

H04W 36/30
Abstract:
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for high data mode operation in cellular networks. A UE may determine, for an interface to a high-speed cellular network, a categorization from a plurality of categorizations, determine availability of the high-speed cellular network, and select, based at least in part on the categorization and availability of the high-speed cellular network, the interface for a data connection to the high-speed cellular network. The categorization may be one of expensive or not expensive and/or one of a first level associated with a higher compression codec rate or a second level associated with a lower compression codec rate. The UE may receive, from one of the a low-speed cellular network or the high-speed cellular network, carrier plan information for a cellular data service carrier and analyze the carrier plan information to determine desirability of a switch, e.g., from the low-speed cellular network to the high-speed cellular network.

Updating Profiles For Secondary Wireless Devices

US Patent:
2018035, Dec 6, 2018
Filed:
Apr 16, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/954345
Inventors:
- Cupertino CA, US
Rohan C. MALTHANKAR - San Jose CA, US
Prashant H. VASHI - Sunnyvale CA, US
Viswanath NAGARAJAN - San Jose CA, US

H04W 8/24
H04W 4/50
Abstract:
Techniques to manage updates for eSIMs of a secondary wireless device are disclosed. Responsive to a user input, expiration of a timer, receipt of a message from an associated primary wireless device, processing circuitry of the secondary wireless device commands an eUICC to update an eSIM. A secure data connection is established between the eUICC and a network provisioning server, either directly from the secondary wireless device to a cellular wireless network or relayed indirectly via the primary wireless device. The eUICC and the network provisioning server exchange messages in accordance with a BIP process to update the eSIM. The eUICC provides a status to the processing circuitry indicating success or failure for the eSIM update. Upon success, a portion of the secondary wireless device may be placed in a reduced power state. Upon failure, the eSIM update process may repeat up to a maximum number of retries.
