Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing a refund amount to a customer account for a payment transaction that occurred using a real-time payment network. In an embodiment, a supplemental payment services computer receives a refund request including a transaction reference and a token concerning a payment transaction between a merchant and a customer, determines that the payment transaction was effected in a real-time payment network, determines an issuer financial institution (FI) computer of an issuer FI maintaining a customer account represented by the token, transmits the refund request to the issuer FI computer, receives a favorable authorization response and transmits the authorization response to an acquirer FI computer associated with the merchant. The supplemental payment services computer also transmits a payment card network funds transfer credit message directing the issuer FI to credit the refund amount to the customer account and transmits a payment card network funds transfer debit message directing the acquirer FI to debit the refund amount from an account of the merchant to the acquirer FI computer. Next, the refund amount from the acquirer FI computer to the issuer FI computer is settled via a payment card account network settlement system computer.

A payment card account system transaction request is received. The request was initiated by acceptance of a payment card account transaction by a merchant. The request includes a transaction amount. It is determined whether the merchant has selected EFT (electronic funds transfer) settlement for the payment card account transaction that the merchant accepted. Abstract:
A request for a refund is received relative to a payment transaction implemented in a real-time payment system. The request is transmitted to an issuer financial institution that maintains an account for the payer in the payment transaction. A response is received from the issuer financial institution. The response is transmitted to an acquirer financial institution that provides financial services to the recipient of the payment transaction. A first transfer message is transmitted to the issuer financial institution directing the issuer financial institution to credit a refund amount to the payer's account and to debit a settlement holding account maintained by the issuer financial institution. A second transfer message is transmitted to the acquirer financial institution to debit the refund amount from the recipient's account. A system and method for secure and intuitive payment transactions at an ecommerce merchant website with a client device. The system has a trusted platform that hosts a Mediator site and Manifest database that includes a plurality of Manifest files.
