Delay-Based Overflow Routing In Communication Systems

US Patent:
7839787, Nov 23, 2010
Filed:
Feb 6, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/671590
Inventors:
Stephen Dispensa - Shawnee Mission KS, US
Assignee:
Sprint Communications Company L.P. - Overland Park KS
International Classification:
H04L 12/26
G06F 11/00
H04J 3/16
US Classification:
370235, 370252, 370465
Abstract:
A communication system determines a delay variation between at least a first link and a second link. The communication system routes user communications over the first link if the delay variation is within a maximum threshold. The communication system routes the user communications over the second link if the delay variation exceeds the maximum threshold.

Multi Factor Authentication

US Patent:
8365258, Jan 29, 2013
Filed:
Sep 26, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/862173
Inventors:
Stephen T. Dispensa - Leawood KS, US
Assignee:
PhoneFactor, Inc. - Overland Park KS
International Classification:
H04L 29/06
US Classification:
726 5, 726 2, 726 3, 726 4, 709225, 709226, 713155, 713182, 713183, 705 64, 705 72, 705 76
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a network element comprises one or more processors, and a memory module communicatively coupled to the processor. The memory module comprises logic instructions which, when executed by the processor, configure the processor to receive, via a first communication channel, a primary authentication request transmitted from a user from a first device, process the primary authentication request to determine whether the user is authorized to access one or more resources, in response to a determination that the user is authorized to access one or more resources, initiate, a secondary authentication request, and transmit the secondary authentication request from the network element to the user via a second communication channel, different from the first communication channel.

Computer Program, Method, And System For Voice Authentication Of A User To Access A Secure Resource

US Patent:
2012025, Oct 4, 2012
Filed:
Mar 29, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/434303
Inventors:
Timothy S. Sutton - Overland Park KS, US
Stephen T. Dispensa - Leawood KS, US
International Classification:
G10L 17/00
US Classification:
704246, 704E15001
Abstract:
Authenticating a purported user attempting to access a secure resource includes enrolling a user's voice sample by requiring the user to orally speak preselected enrollment utterances, generating prompts and respective predetermined correct responses where each question has only one correct response, presenting a prompt to the user in real time, and analyzing the user's real time live response to determine if the live response matches the predetermined correct response and if voice characteristics of the user's live voice sample match characteristics of the enrolled voice sample.

Multi Factor Authentication

US Patent:
2013018, Jul 18, 2013
Filed:
Jan 28, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/751420
Inventors:
Stephen T. Dispensa - Leawood KS, US
Assignee:
PHONEFACTOR, INC. - Overland Park KS
International Classification:
H04L 29/06
US Classification:
726 4

Computer Program And Method For Administering Secure Transactions Using Secondary Authentication

US Patent:
2013023, Sep 12, 2013
Filed:
Mar 12, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/418043
Inventors:
Stephen T. Dispensa - Leawood KS, US
International Classification:
G06F 21/00
US Classification:
726 2
Abstract:
Administering secure transactions using secondary authentication includes receiving a transaction request from a user using a first client device, determining whether the requested transaction is a type of transaction that is already approved, determining whether one or more current parameters of the transaction are within limits that are already established if the type of transaction is already approved, transmitting a secondary authentication request to the user to approve the transaction if the current parameters are outside of already established limits or if the type of transaction is not already approved, receiving a response to the secondary authentication request from the user, determining from the response whether the user approved the transaction, aborting the transaction if the user denies the transaction, and performing the transaction if the user approves the transaction or if the type of transaction is already approved and the current parameters are within already established limits.

Delay Variation Based Routing In Communication Systems

US Patent:
7197009, Mar 27, 2007
Filed:
Mar 6, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/092241
Inventors:

Assignee:
Sprint Communications Company L.P. - Overland Park KS
International Classification:
H04L 12/26
US Classification:
370237, 370238, 370252
Abstract:
A communication system determines a delay variation between at least a first link and a second link. The communication system routes user communications over the first link if the delay variation is within a maximum threshold. The communication system routes the user communications over the second link if the delay variation exceeds the maximum threshold.

Enhanced Alternative Multifactor Authentication

US Patent:
2016037, Dec 22, 2016
Filed:
Jun 19, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/744024
Inventors:
- Redmond WA, US
Stephen Dispensa - Mercer Island WA, US
International Classification:
G06F 21/31
G06F 21/34
H04L 29/06
H04W 12/06
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a system and method for authenticating a user to a second device based on the user's current authentication to a primary device. Through a first device that the user is authenticated to the user can prove to the other devices that the user is proximate to the other devices that these devices can automatically authenticate the user based on the user's authentication with the first device. The devices either exchange information between them or record specific information about their surroundings that when the information or recordings match the user is authenticated to the other devices.
