Semiconductor Test System Having Double Data Rate Pin Scrambling

US Patent:
6754868, Jun 22, 2004
Filed:
Jun 29, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/895439
Inventors:
Steven R. Bristow - San Jose CA
Paul Magliocco - Los Gatos CA
Seth W. Craighead - San Jose CA
Assignee:
Nextest Systems Corporation - San Jose CA
International Classification:
G01R 3128
US Classification:
714744, 713600, 714734
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for high speed testing of devices having either logic circuits, memory arrays or both. Apparatus ( ) includes: (i) pin electronics (P/Es ) each coupling the apparatus to one of a number of pins ( ) on device ( ); (ii) timing and format circuits (T/Fs ) for mapping a signal to one of P/Es ( ); (iii) pattern generator ( ) having a number of outputs for outputting signals for testing device ( ); (iv) pin scrambling circuit ( ) between pattern generator ( ) and T/Fs ( ), the pin scrambling circuit capable of mapping at least two signals from any of the pattern generator outputs to any of the T/Fs; and (v) clock ( ) for providing a clock signal having a clock cycle to pattern generator ( ) and T/Fs ( ). T/Fs ( ) are capable of switching the signals coupled to P/Es ( ) at least twice each clock cycle.

Software And Protocol Structure For An Automated User Notification System

US Patent:
7310509, Dec 18, 2007
Filed:
Apr 16, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/837738
Inventors:
Steven Bristow - San Francisco CA, US
Richard Bentley - San Francisco CA, US
Bruce Durham - Sunnyvale CA, US
Gregory Delory - San Francisco CA, US
Assignee:
deCarta Inc. - San Jose CA
International Classification:
H04M 11/00
H04J 3/16
US Classification:
455405, 370389
Abstract:
The present invention provides an automated user notification system for monitoring user items and notifying a user when selected conditions occur. A first portion of the notification system comprises a network operations center (NOC). The NOC stores user information about one or more user items and is further coupled to a plurality of communication devices that can automatically contact a user. A second portion of the notification system comprises at least one detector. The detector monitors one or more user items and provides efficiently encoded information regarding selected conditions of the user items to the NOC via a communication link. After the information is received and decoded by the NOC, the NOC automatically matches the received information to information stored at the NOC to determine if a condition exists about which the user should be notified.
