Steven P. Hanson - Winnetka IL
Jeffrey D. Breslow - Highland Park IL
Assignee:
Marvin Glass & Associates - Chicago IL
International Classification:
A63F 900
US Classification:
273 1GE
Abstract:
A game for picking and identifying figurines during a timed turn for matching with corresponding identification on a card. The game housing establishes a raised playing surface having a number of openings communicating with the interior of the housing. Under the playing surface there is a spring motor driven cam with three identical lobes and having an outwardly extending lever for winding the motor for a single cycle of approximately 125 degrees of rotation. Above the cam there is a follower riser having two concentric coplanar annular plates that support the figurines for simultaneous, essentially vertical, raising and lowering of the figurines through the openings. Keeper rings on the follower riser cooperate with guide posts in the housing to maintain the essentially vertical movement.

Malleable Material Vehicle Playset

Game Apparatus

US Patent:
4337948, Jul 6, 1982
Filed:
Feb 8, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/119824
Inventors:
Jeffrey D. Breslow - Highland Park IL
Donald A. Rosenwinkel - Tinley Park IL
Steven P. Hanson - Brea CA
Rex M. Harper - Chicago IL
Assignee:
Marvin Glass & Associates - Chicago IL
International Classification:
A63F 300
A63F 900
US Classification:
273237
Abstract:
A game apparatus includes a manually movable game object having a finite number of generally planar exterior surfaces upon which the game object may rest. In one embodiment, a game board includes indicia defining positions of placement and movement of the game object as it is rotated about an edge from one planar surface to another. The game object includes an internal microcomputer capable of detecting which one of the planar surfaces is generally parallel with or in contact with the game board or any other suitable supporting surface to identify the discrete positions of movement of the game object. The microcomputer may provide an identifying sensorially perceptible signal identifying the various discrete positions. In addition, the microcomputer includes a storing unit for storing sequential movements of the game object through a finite number of movements. The microcomputer also identifies player turns for movement of the game object and provides a sensorially perceptible event at the end of a player's turn or at the end of a game when an incorrect movement of the game object is made or when a movement is not attempted within a predetermined time period.

Children's Stuffed-Art Craft Set

US Patent:
4514175, Apr 30, 1985
Filed:
Jan 20, 1984
Appl. No.:
6/572302
Inventors:
John V. Zaruba - Chicago IL
Steven P. Hanson - Winnetka IL
Beth E. Luecke - Chicago IL
Wayne A. Kuna - Oak Park IL
Assignee:
Marvin Glass & Associates - Chicago IL
International Classification:
G09B 1100
US Classification:
434 82
Abstract:
A children's stuffed-art craft set includes a background board having two-dimensional graphics on a face surface with openings of various shapes forming elements of the graphics extending through the board to the opposite surface. Backing pieces, and relatively soft, stuffing pieces which are readily compressible compared to the background board and backing pieces, are shaped to fit into background board openings. Pieces of fabric or other material, larger than the openings and of various colors, patterns and textures are also supplied. A selected fabric piece is placed over the conforming stuffing and backing pieces and then inserted through the opening in the backing board from the opposite surface. The thickness of the extra fabric is wedged between the opening and the conforming backing piece to stretch the fabric, compress the stuffing and secure the combination in place creating a soft relief element of the picture or design following the two-dimensional graphics on the face of the background board.

Dough Cutting And Packing Apparatus

US Patent:
5388390, Feb 14, 1995
Filed:
Oct 15, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/138369
Inventors:
James W. Finkowski - Andover MN
William L. Murphy - Maple Grove MN
Steven K. Hanson - Shoreview MN
Assignee:
The Pillsbury Company - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
B65B 6300
US Classification:
53516
Abstract:
A dough cutting and packing apparatus for cutting a sheet of dough into dough pieces and transferring the dough pieces to containers. A cutting unit is defined by a plurality of cutting plates having dough retaining openings. The sheet of dough is partially sheeted into the dough retaining openings by an initial compressor roll which is spaced from an upper surface of the cutting plates. A terminal compressor roll contacts the upper surface of the cutting plates, and acts to sheet a remaining portion of the dough sheet into the dough retaining openings to divide the dough sheet into a plurality of dough pieces retained in the openings. The initial compressor roll is driven at a peripheral rate of speed that exceeds an instantaneous liner rate of speed of the cutting unit. The terminal compressor roll is frictionally driven via contact with the cutting plates such that a peripheral rate of speed of the terminal compressor matches the linear rate of speed of the cutting unit. A packing mechanism transfers the dough pieces from the cutting unit to the containers as the containers are moved relative to the packing mechanism by a plurality of flighted augers.

Toy Vehicle

US Patent:
4580994, Apr 8, 1986
Filed:
Dec 15, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/561786
Inventors:
Fritz Fauser - Arlington Heights IL
Wayne A. Kuna - Oak Park IL
Steven P. Hanson - Winnetka IL
Assignee:
Marvin Glass & Associates - Chicago IL
International Classification:
A63H 1700
US Classification:
446465
Abstract:
A toy vehicle with a two-part, telescoping, chassis is driven by a battery powered motor. The child manipulates a control lever to energize the motor and produce engine revving sounds and then engage the rear wheels to start the vehicle doing a wheelie. One part of the chassis carries the front axle and wheels along with the motor and batteries plus an elongated resonating tube with a bellows and striking rib at one end adjacent the motor and an angular, open, sound producing end. Beaters driven by the motor strike the rib to produce the engine revving sound. Rear wheels mounted on an axle carried by the other part of the chassis are drivingly engaged with the motor when the two parts are telescoped together. The shift control lever is mounted for pivotal movement into an initial electrical circuit completing contact to energize the motor and later mechanical shifting to telescope the rear axle carrying part towards the motor to engage the motor and rear axle. Positioning of the batteries and motor over the rear axle plus the initial thrust of power causes the front end of the vehicle to lift and do a wheelie.
