Window Assembly For Buildings In Seismic Zones

US Patent:
2003015, Aug 28, 2003
Filed:
Dec 28, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/331045
Inventors:
Thoi Huynh - Seattle WA, US
International Classification:
E04B001/98
E04H009/02
E04H014/00
US Classification:
052/208000, 052/235000, 052/167100
Abstract:
A window assembly () with its glazing frame that stays independently from lateral movement of building main structure () is disclosed. The window assembly includes an outer retaining frame () and an inner glazing frame (). The retaining frame is attached to the building main structure. The glazing frame holds glass pane (), and sits inside the retaining frame. Between the retaining frame and the glazing frame is a predetermined clearance space (X) and (Y), at their vertical edges and their top edge. The resulting window assembly allows the glazing frame to stay in its shape, while the retaining frame moves laterally with the main structure during earthquakes or blasts, thereby minimizing the chance of glass breakage. Application of glazing gasket () or sealant () provides watertight result to the window assembly.

Rotating Circular Aerofoil And Propeller System

US Patent:
2019023, Aug 1, 2019
Filed:
Jul 1, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/200915
Inventors:
Thoi H Huynh - Seattle WA, US
Fuji P Huynh - Seattle WA, US
International Classification:
B64C 11/00
Abstract:
A rotating circular aerofoil system that includes a disc body that has an aerofoil shape in cross section. The air foil shape has an angle of attack that is symmetrical. The disc body's includes a circular inner edge which forms a circular center opening and the disc body's leading edge. The disc body also includes an outer edge that forms the trailing edge. Intersecting ribs extend across the center opening and include a shaft opening that attaches to a rotating shaft. Formed on the top and bottom surfaces of the disc body are evenly spaced apart, extending T-shaped or L-shaped fins. In one embodiment, an air blower or impeller is attached to a hollow shaft linked to an air pump. When the air pump is activated, air is delivered to the air blower and impeller that distributes the air over the top surface of the disc body to improve lift.

Rotating Circular Airfoil And Propeller System

US Patent:
2014011, May 1, 2014
Filed:
Oct 26, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/694082
Inventors:
Thoi H. Huynh - Seattle WA, US
Fuji P. Huynh - Seattle WA, US
International Classification:
F01D 5/14
US Classification:
416227 A
Abstract:
A rotating circular airfoil system () that creates lift when rotates about its axis () is disclosed. This circular airfoil is symmetrical about its axis and has a body-sectional-shape () similar to those of modern airplane wings. It is hollow in the middle to create a circular inner edge (), which is the leading edge of the airfoil while its outer edge () is the trailing edge. Angle of attack () is symmetrically provided. Pairs of fins () are attached or embodied onto the top and the bottom of the airfoil. These sectional-tee-shape fins run radiately from the inner edge of the circular airfoil. Spokes () from the center of the circular airfoil attached to its inner edge enable it to be rotated by a turn-shaft that aligns to the airfoil axis through center hole (). When this circular airfoil rotates about its axis in the air, the surrounding air is contact by the fins and forced to travel from the inner edge to the outer edge of the circular airfoil, as a result of the centrifugal action. While the air continuously travels from the leading edge () to the trailing edge () of the airfoil, it creates the well known lift force () of the airfoil principal. This circular airfoil system also operates in water or other fluids to create lift or propelling force.
