Sealing Hinge For A Rigid Tonneau Cover

US Patent:
8348328, Jan 8, 2013
Filed:
Nov 2, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/610586
Inventors:
Thomas Dean Walser - Chesaning MI, US
Michael Williamson - Corunna MI, US
Louis Simko - Flushing MI, US
Scott A. Williamson - Orlando FL, US
Assignee:
Rugged Liner - Owosso MI
International Classification:
B60P 7/02
US Classification:
29610009
Abstract:
A folding tonneau cover including a first substantially rigid panel having a laterally-extending front edge at least partially defined by an elongate edge rail, and a second substantially rigid panel having a laterally-extending rear edge at least partially defined by an elongate edge rail, the first and second panels having opposed exterior and interior sides. The first and second panels substantially lie in a plane when the cover is unfolded, the first and second panel exterior sides generally facing in a direction away from a first side of the plane when the cover is unfolded, the first and second panel exterior sides adjacently superposed when the cover is folded. The cover includes a hinge assembly having substantially rigid first and second portions pivotally connected together along a first pivot axis located on the one side of the plane, the hinge first portion affixed to the first panel edge rail, the hinge second portion affixed to the second panel edge rail. A seal is affixed to at least one of the first and second panel edge rails. When the cover is unfolded the seal extends from one of the first panel front edge and the second panel rear edge toward the other and is entirely disposed on the same side of the first pivot axis as is the plane.

Rigid Tonneau Cover And Clamp Mechanism Therefor

US Patent:
8511736, Aug 20, 2013
Filed:
Jul 12, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/181035
Inventors:
Scott A. Williamson - Orlando FL, US
Michael Williamson - Corunna MI, US
David Kosinski - Northville MI, US
Thomas Dean Walser - Chesaning MI, US
Assignee:
Rugged Liner, Inc. - Owosso MI
International Classification:
B60P 7/02
US Classification:
29610007, 29610017, 224558
Abstract:
A tonneau cover for selectively enclosing a space within a cargo box. The cover has an elongate channel laterally extending between a proximate end located proximate a side edge of the cover and a distal end at which the channel terminates. The cover includes a clamp mechanism slidably engaged with the channel, and the clamp mechanism includes a handle, a block member slidably received in the channel, an elongate rod member coupled to the handle, and a latch or hook member connected to the rod member. The latch member is moveable between a clamped position for operatively engaging a portion of the cargo box and a released position for spacing the latch member from and placing the latch member out of operative engagement with the cargo box. The handle and rod member are positioned in the channel in the clamp mechanism stowed position.

Electrical Discharge Machining Apparatus With Exchangeable Electrode Refeed Cartridge

US Patent:
4814573, Mar 21, 1989
Filed:
Apr 7, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/848512
Inventors:
John M. Check - Chelsea MI
William L. Clayton - Fowlerville MI
Frederick L. Fitts - Ann Arbor MI
Thomas D. Walser - Chesaning MI
Assignee:
Ex-Cell-O Corporation - Walled Lake MI
International Classification:
B23H 726
US Classification:
219 69E
Abstract:
An electrical discharge machine including a pick-and-place system for transferring electrode refeed cartridges from a storage turret to an EDM work station from either one or two indexable turrets. A plurality of equally spaced electrode cartridge assemblies are each removably mounted on each turret by magnets and guide pins. A slide assembly is vertically positioned between a cartridge assembly load and unload elevation and an EDM work station elevation. The slide assembly includes a movable connector plug assembly selectively driven by an EDM cylinder fixed on the slide assembly. The connector plug assembly supplies refeed cylinders on a slide mounted cartridge assembly and vertically reciprocates a power connector receptacle and drive head on such cartridge assembly. The receptacle and drive head include an electrode guide board guiding one or more electrodes with respect to a workpiece. The slide-mounted, fixed EDM cylinder moves the drive head to position such electrodes toward and away from the workpieces to spark erode desired openings therein.

System For Positioning And Transferring Edm Electrodes

US Patent:
4739145, Apr 19, 1988
Filed:
Apr 7, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/848506
Inventors:
John M. Check - Chelsea MI
William L. Clayton - Fowlerville MI
Frederick L. Fitts - Ann Arbor MI
Thomas D. Walser - Chesaning MI
Assignee:
Ex-Cell-O Corporation - Walled Lake MI
International Classification:
B23H 726
B23Q 3155
US Classification:
219 69E
Abstract:
In a multiple axis electrical discharge machine having a pair of indexable turrets each of which carries a plurality of electrode cartridges each with a supply of electrodes, the improvement of individually releasable electrodes in each cartridge which are configured to be transferred to a tool holder to be precisely positioned therein; the machine further includes a programmable electrode tool holder carousel and opposed tool carriers for moving preselected combinations of tool holders and electrodes between an electrode transfer station and a tool changer for transferring the selected electrode to a servo driven spindle head.

Low Force Wire Guide For Edm Machine

US Patent:
4791264, Dec 13, 1988
Filed:
Apr 29, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/043889
Inventors:
Thomas D. Walser - Chesaning MI
Assignee:
Raycon Textron Inc. - Ann Arbor MI
International Classification:
B23H 710
US Classification:
219 69W
Abstract:
A wire guide directs a wire electrode from a refeed mechanism in an electrical discharge machine EDM to a workpiece. The wire guide has a tension cap and a fixed wire guide body ceramic insert defining a precision guide slot for the electrode and wherein the tension cap is biased by a flex ring mounted on separated ends of the tension cap and body to retain them together. The biased tension cap has tapered surfaces at its exit end which produce a compound tension force on the electrode for maintaining a low friction force thereon during the life of the wire guide.
