Apparatus, System, And Method For Efficient Recovery Of A Database From A Log Of Database Activities

US Patent:
2006003, Feb 9, 2006
Filed:
Aug 4, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/911803
Inventors:
Victor Lim - San Jose CA, US
David Moore - Morgan Hill CA, US
F. Perry - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707202000
Abstract:
An apparatus, system, and method are disclosed for efficient recovery of a database from a log of database activities. A log of database activities is filtered into a first sequential data set. The remainder portion of the log is sorted into a second sequential data set. The first sequential data set and the second sequential data set are merged and written to the database. Allowing the sequential records to bypass a sort operation reduces the amount of time and the system resource overhead required for database recovery.

Method And System For Implementing Augmented Reality (Ar)-Based Assistance Within Work Environment

US Patent:
2022035, Nov 3, 2022
Filed:
Jul 18, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/867565
Inventors:
- Santa Clara CA, US
Elad Arbel - Tel-Aviv, IL
Richard Workman - Sunnyvale CA, US
Victor Lim - Pacifica CA, US
Assignee:
AGILENT TECHNOLOGIES, INC. - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
G06T 19/00
G02B 27/01
G06K 7/10
G06K 7/14
G06Q 10/06
G06V 20/20
Abstract:
Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing augmented reality (AR)-based assistance within a work environment. In various embodiments, a computing system might receive, from a camera having a field of view of a work environment, first images of at least part of the work environment, the first images overlapping with a field of view of a user wearing an AR headset; might analyze the received first images to identify objects; might query a database(s) to determine a task associated with a first object(s) among the identified objects; might generate an image overlay providing at least one of graphical icon-based, text-based, image-based, and/or highlighting-based instruction(s) each indicative of instructions presented to the user to implement the task associated with the first object(s); and might display, to the user's eyes through the AR headset, the generated first image overlay that overlaps with the field of view of the user's eyes.

Deparaffinization Of Tissue Utilizing Electric Field

US Patent:
2023005, Feb 23, 2023
Filed:
Oct 28, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/976610
Inventors:
- Santa Clara CA, US
Victor Lim - Pacifica CA, US
International Classification:
G01N 1/40
G01N 1/44
Abstract:
Paraffin-embedded tissue is prepared removing paraffin from the tissue. The paraffin is removed by generating an electric field effective to produce plasma and direct charged species of the plasma to the paraffin, thereby rendering the paraffin responsive to the electric field. The electric field may move the paraffin out from the tissue due to electrostatic force. Movement of the paraffin may be assisted by moving an electrode utilized to generate the electric field relative to the paraffin. Movement of the paraffin also may be assisted by applying a solvent and/or heat energy to the tissue.

Preparation Of Tissue Sections Using Fluorescence-Based Detection

US Patent:
2021010, Apr 15, 2021
Filed:
Dec 21, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/129209
Inventors:
- Santa Clara CA, US
Kristin Briana Bernick - San Jose CA, US
Adrienne Mccampbell - San Jose CA, US
Nicholas M. Sampas - San Jose CA, US
Victor Lim - Pacifica CA, US
International Classification:
G01N 1/30
G01N 1/28
G01N 1/06
G01N 35/00
G06T 7/00
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to an improved method for distinguishing tissue from an embedding medium, such as paraffin in a formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sample. The method involves the use of fluorescence of naturally-occurring species in tissue to determine the location of the tissue in the embedded sample. An embedded sample is generally excited by light of a selected wavelength, and the fluorescence emission at an emitted wavelength is used to locate the boundary or location of the tissue in the embedded sample.
