Polyimide/Aromatic Sulfone Resin Blends And Prepegs Coated Therewith

US Patent:
4757120, Jul 12, 1988
Filed:
Oct 3, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/914772
Inventors:
William W. Bristowe - Wilmington DE
Hong C. Kim - Wilmington DE
Assignee:
ICI Americas Inc. - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
C08L 7908
C08L 8106
US Classification:
525534
Abstract:
Polyimide polymers which are reaction products of active methylene compounds and N,N'-bismaleimide derivatives are improved by incorporating them with 2 to 15% by weight of a polyethersulfone polymer. The polymer blend is useful in producing films, moldings, prepegs, laminates and filled composites which are particularly useful in structural components which have stability at high temperatures.

Polyimide/Polyetherimide Resin Blends

US Patent:
4816526, Mar 28, 1989
Filed:
Dec 8, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/939556
Inventors:
William W. Bristowe - Wilmington DE
Hong C. Kim - Wilmington DE
Assignee:
ICI Americas Inc. - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
C08L 7908
US Classification:
525422
Abstract:
Polyimide copolymers which are reaction products of active methylene compounds and N,N'-bismaleimide derivatives are improved by incorporating them with 2-20% by weight of a polyetherimide polymer having arylimide bonds, arylene bonds and ether bonds. The polymer blend is useful in films, moldings, prepregs, laminates and filled composites which are particularly useful in structural components which have stability at high temperatures.

Vinyl Ester Urethanes

US Patent:
4213837, Jul 22, 1980
Filed:
Nov 18, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/852625

ICI Americas Inc. - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
C08F28302
C08F28306
US Classification:
20415919
Abstract:
Vinyl ester urethane resins prepared by reacting (a) the reaction product of a polyoxyalkylene bisphenol A and a polycarboxylic acid or anhydride, (b) a polyfunctional isocyanate, and (c) a monohydroxyl-terminated ester of acrylic acid are useful in coating compositions.

Polyamide Comprising Fluorinated Xylyene Moieties

US Patent:
4734486, Mar 29, 1988
Filed:
Jan 2, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/000145
Inventors:
William W. Bristowe - Wilmington DE
Assignee:
ICI Americas Inc. - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
C08G 6926
C08G 6932
US Classification:
528347
Abstract:
Polyamide polymers are made by reacting fluorinated xylylene diamine or the corresponding isocyanate derivatives with polycarboxylic moieties such as anhydrides or acid chlorides. The polymers thus formed may be cast into films having superior impermiability to gases and moisture.

Metal Or Plastic-Clad Polyvinyl Resin Laminates

US Patent:
4916016, Apr 10, 1990
Filed:
Feb 18, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/015894

US Classification:
4284111
Abstract:
A metal foil or plastic film clad reinforced resin susbstrate which is made by the process of injection molding a polymerizing resin solution under pressure in a closed heated mold cavity having at least one surface covered by a metal foil or plastic film. These laminates are useful as electrical circuit board and EMI/RFI shielding components.

Carboxy Modified Vinyl Ester Urethane Resins

US Patent:
4506055, Mar 19, 1985
Filed:
Jun 23, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/506910
