Assignee:
Xerox Corporation - Norwalk CT
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707 3, 707 5, 707 6, 707 10
Abstract:
In accordance with the disclosure, there is provided a method for identifying duplicate documents comprising drafting a first document and creating a near unique representative string based on the document content. The method further comprises searching for other documents with the same NRS and selectively assigning a duplicate group identification to the first document, the duplicate group identification is unique if no near unique representative string matches are found, or the duplicate group identification is the same as an associated duplicate document's duplicate group identification that matches the NRS. The method further comprises placing the DGI into a meta-data of the first document and recalling a list of duplicates of a particular document based upon user demand by searching the meta-data and selecting documents using the same DGI.
Method And Apparatus For Compressing Color Or Gray Scale Documents
US Patent:
5778092, Jul 7, 1998
Filed:
Dec 20, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/770391
Inventors:
Peter S. MacLeod - Oakland CA
Luc Vincent - Palo Alto CA

Assignee:
Xerox Corporation - Stamford CT
International Classification:
H04N 164
US Classification:
382176
Abstract:
A technique for compressing a color or gray scale pixel map representing a document. The pixel map is decomposed into a three-plane representation, a reduced-resolution foreground plane, a reduced-resolution background plane, and a high-resolution binary selector plane. The foreground plane contains the color or gray scale information of foreground items such as text. The background plane contains the color or gray scale information for the "background" of the page and the continuous tone pictures that are contained on the page. The selector plane stores information for selecting from either the foreground plane or background plane during decompression. Each of the respective planes is compressed using a compression technique optimal for the corresponding data type. Also described is a method for decompressing documents compressed into the three plane representation at arbitrary resolutions.

Abstract:
A system is configured to synchronize a first video, a second video, and an audio track. The system analyzes image content associated with the first video and the second video to obtain a first subset of images of the first video and a second subset of images of the second video. The system then determines a music beat of the audio track to be synchronized with one of the first subset of images or the second subset of images. The system then adjusts a framerate of the first subset of images or the second subset of images based on the determined music beat to synchronize the first subset of images or the second subset of images. The first subset of images and the second subset of images may then be combined, which the system then plays back from a designated playback slot along with the audio track.

Abstract:
Various other embodiments enable a processing device to receive at least a first set of images from a capture device. In some cases, the first set of images is a video clip captured using a first frame rate over a first duration of time. In some embodiments, the processing device analyzes the first set of images to determine one or more properties associated with the images. Based upon the determined properties, some embodiments modify and playback the first set of images at a second frame rate over a second duration of time.
