Location Specific Event Broadcasting

US Patent:
8102864, Jan 24, 2012
Filed:
Jan 30, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/022914
Inventors:
Amit Khivesara - Clifton NJ, US
Xiaofeng Liu - Edison NJ, US
Peter Andrew Mataga - Sparta NJ, US
Igor Slepchin - Caldwell NJ, US
Cary Torkelson - Allendale NJ, US
Vinod Valloppillil - San Francisco CA, US
Edgar Villanueva - Rockaway NJ, US
Assignee:
Roundbox, Inc. - Forham Park NJ
International Classification:
H04L 12/28
US Classification:
370401
Abstract:
Applications in a broadcast environment distribute events in real-time to a large number of receivers within specified geographic locations while efficiently sharing bandwidth resources with other applications using the same broadcast network. Applications need not be aware of the other applications sharing the resources, nor of the methods, protocols, and other mechanisms used to actually broadcast the data over the broadcast medium. Server-side applications that serve data, send notifications, or distribute events to specific locations within the network use a broadcast location manager. Client applications that receive such data, notifications, or events use a client location filter to obtain events that are relevant based on the location of the device. The broadcast location manager and client location filter work together to reliably and efficiently transmit data, notifications, and events to specific locations over the broadcast network for all applications involved.

Reliable Event Broadcaster With Multiplexing And Bandwidth Control Functions

Inventors:
Amit Khivesara - Clifton NJ, US
Xiaofeng Liu - Edison NJ, US
Peter Andrew Mataga - Sparta NJ, US
Cary Torkelson - Allendale NJ, US
Vinod Valloppillil - San Francisco CA, US
Edgar Villanueva - Rockaway NJ, US
Assignee:
Roundbox, Inc. - Forham Park NJ
International Classification:
H04W 4/00
H04L 12/56
G06F 15/173
US Classification:
370329, 3703954, 370230, 709226
Abstract:
A system, apparatus, and method for transmitting data in a broadcast mode to multiple devices operating in a network. The invention enables the efficient utilization of bandwidth while providing a desired level of quality of service for the applications executing on the devices that utilize the broadcasted data. The invention utilizes a set of bandwidth constraints in combination with a set of heuristics and rules for the allocation and re-allocation of bandwidth among multiple applications in a manner that minimizes the impact on the quality of service metrics of importance to the affected applications when contention exists for the network resources. The present invention implements processes to cause the quality of service provided to each application to degrade smoothly, with certain priorities and guarantees being maintained. The present invention also provides event segmentation and reassembly functions for applications, and includes reliability mechanisms to increase the ability to provide data to client devices that have not been actively receiving for significant periods of time.

Abstract:
Certain embodiments of the present invention provide methods and systems for determining a hanging protocol for display of clinical images in a study. Certain embodiments provide a machine learning hanging protocol analysis system. The example system includes an image processing module to process image data to provide one or more features. The example system includes a learning engine to receive processed image data and additional data to learn and adapt a hanging protocol for repeated use by applying one or more machine learning algorithms to the processed image data and additional data. The learning engine is to continue to refine an available selection of candidate layouts based on the processed image data and additional data to provide one or more layout choices for selection to form a hanging protocol for display of image and other data.

Automatic Segmentation And Characterization Of Cellular Motion

US Patent:
2013029, Nov 7, 2013
Filed:
May 3, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/463100
Inventors:

Abstract:
The present techniques provide for the evaluation of cellular motion and/or cellular properties based on an analysis of motion for cluster of cells. In an exemplary technique, images of cells are acquired and the image is segmented into clusters. Motion data for each respective cluster is derived from the segmented data. The properties of each cluster can be used to evaluate cellular properties and/or cellular motion properties.

Comparing An Extracted User Name With Stored User Data

US Patent:
2017004, Feb 16, 2017
Filed:
Aug 16, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/827330
Inventors:
- Mountain View CA, US
Sanjiv Kumar - White Plains NY, US
Xiaofeng Liu - Scarsdale NY, US
Brian Lin Chang - San Francisco CA, US
International Classification:
G06Q 20/10
G06Q 20/36
G06K 9/20
Abstract:
An application extracts a user name from a financial card image using optical character recognition (“OCR”) and compares segments of the user name to names stored in user data to refine the extracted name. The application performs an OCR algorithm on a card image and compares an extracted name with user data. The application identifies likely matching names to the extracted name. The OCR application breaks the extracted name into one or more series of segments and compares the segments from the extracted name to segments from the stored names. The OCR application determines an edit distance between the extracted name and each potentially matching stored name. If the edit distance is below a configured threshold then the OCR application revises the extracted name to match the identified stored name. The refined name is presented to the user for verification.

Quality Assurance For Mri-Guided Breast Biopsy

US Patent:
2016022, Aug 11, 2016
Filed:
Feb 10, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/618707
Inventors:
- Schenectady NY, US
Robert David Darrow - Scotia NY, US
Eric William Fiveland - Niskayuna NY, US
Xiaofeng Liu - Niskayuna NY, US
International Classification:
A61B 5/00
A61B 5/055
Abstract:
The system and method of the invention pertains to an MR-guided breast biopsy procedure, specifically as to quality control and assurance following a breast biopsy procedure. Following automated lesion segmentation in a first post-contrast biopsy image, with the biopsy location segmented out of last biopsy series, a quantitative assessment is performed at the end of the procedure to highlight the volume of tissue taken out and the percentage (%) lesion fraction in the extracted tissue. This provides confirmation to the clinician that the appropriate target tissue was identified and sampled during the procedure.
