Protective Helmet

US Patent:
8640267, Feb 4, 2014
Filed:
Sep 14, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/617663
Inventors:
Yochanan Cohen - New York NY, US
International Classification:
A42B 3/00
US Classification:
2411
Abstract:
Embodiments of a protective helmet have a shell formed from a cushioning material, a cushioning spacer layer coupled to the shell and only partially covering an inner surface of the shell, a hard inner structure having an outer surface attached to the cushioning spacer layer and an inner surface, and an innermost cushioning pad layer attached to the inner surface of the hard inner structure. A flexible thin cover extending around an outer surface of said shell and with or without graphics may be provided.

Car Seat

US Patent:
2015025, Sep 10, 2015
Filed:
Mar 5, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/197855
Inventors:
Yochanan Cohen - New York NY, US
Velissa Van Scoyoc - Pottstown PA, US
Ahmet T. Becene - North Royalton OH, US
International Classification:
B60N 2/28
Abstract:
Embodiments of a car seat include an outer protective shell, an inner seat, a suspension system connecting and permitting relative movement between the inner seat and the outer protective shell for shock isolation, and a harness adapted to hold an occupant to the inner seat and not attached to the outer protective shell. In an accident, regardless of the direction in which the seat is facing and regardless of whether the result is a sudden acceleration and/or deceleration, the inner seat will move inside the frame, and the suspension system will absorb some, much, or all of the energy. Energy not absorbed by the suspension system may be absorbed by the inner seat itself and/or an anchor system used to connect the car seat to a vehicle. The frame of the seat will remain structurally intact in almost all circumstances thereby protecting the occupant of the car seat.

Filed:
Feb 3, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/171283
Inventors:
Yochanan Cohen - New York NY, US
International Classification:
A42B 3/12
US Classification:
2414
Abstract:
Embodiments of a protective helmet have a cushioning outer multilayer structure with at least two cushioning layers of materials having different densities and different geometric layouts, a multilayer hard inner structure attached to the interior surface of the cushioning multilayer structure, and an innermost cushioning structure attached to the inner surface of the multilayer hard inner structure. The multilayer hard inner structure is formed from at least two spaced layers of hard material and a layer of cushioning material therebetween. The innermost cushioning structure may be a multilayer structure similar to the outer multilayer structure with at least two cushioning layers of materials having different densities and different geometric layouts. The innermost cushioning structure may include sensors, optionally in a separate layer, and a thermal-control layer. A flexible thin cover extending around an outer surface of said shell and with or without graphics may be provided.
