Abstract:
An apparatus for wafer processing, which comprises a chamber body and a heated liner which are thermally isolated from each other by isolating pins. During wafer processing, e. g. , deposition of titanium nitride film by thermal reaction between titanium tetrachloride and ammonia, a wafer substrate is heated to a reaction temperature in the range of 600-700Â C. by a heated support pedestal. The chamber liner and the interior chamber walls are maintained at a temperature between 150-250Â C. to prevent deposition of undesirable by-products inside the chamber. This facilitates the chamber cleaning procedure, which can be performed using an in-situ chlorine-based process. The excellent thermal isolation between the heated liner and the chamber body allows the chamber exterior to be maintained at a safe operating temperature of 60-65Â C. A heated exhaust assembly is also used in conjunction with the process chamber to remove exhaust gases and reaction by-products. External heaters are used to maintain the exhaust assembly at a temperature of about 150-200Â C.

A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for accessing a subject table in a computer system. The subject table is partitioned across a plurality of processing units of the computer system. A trigger is defined for the subject table, such that when a triggering event occurs on the subject table, a triggered action is performed. Abstract:
Provided is a test system and method that permits automatically interchanging a plurality of tools to seamlessly perform various functions on a sample. Each tool is mounted in an assembly and the sample is mounted on a chuck. A path is defined in a plane along which the chuck is transported with the tools each positioned in the same attitude with respect to, and distance from, that path. The chuck is transported along the path to a position adjacent one of the tools and rotated, if necessary, to position a point of interest on the sample immediately adjacent the tool. Once positioned, the tool engages the sample to perform a test. Following testing, the tool is disengaged from the sample and the process repeated as necessary for each additional test to be performed on the sample. Thus, the apparatus and method of the present invention enables the sample on the chuck to be tested by any of the tools in the system at any site on the surface of the sample by transporting and rotating the chuck to positions adjacent various tools. Therefore, automatic changing of the tool among those installed in the system can be performed seamlessly saving valuable time and resources during production of various items.

Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for accessing a subject table in a computer system. The subject table is partitioned across a plurality of processing units of the computer system. A user query or other request to access the subject table is split into a plurality of step messages, wherein each of the step messages is assigned to one of the processing units managing one or more of the partitions of the subject table. A plurality of actions are identified for each of the step messages, and one or more necessary records for these actions are retrieved from the partition of the subject table and stored into a corresponding partition of a spool table. The necessary records are selected in such a manner that none of the actions involved in the request need to access the partition of the subject table. The actions from the step message are then performed against the partitions of the spool table rather than the partitions of the subject table. An optimizer function uses information from the spool table to generate more efficient execution plans for the step message and its associated actions.

A staging method and means for both device read and update write operations in which messages and commands between a storage subsystem and a fixed-block formatted RAID array emulating a variable-length record (CKD) formatted device for both read and write operations are evaluated to ascertain whether the record addressing was random and truly in record mode. If they are in that mode, then partial track staging by the RAID array control from the fixed-block formatted HDDs to a subsystem cache or the like would reduce device contention by reading and staging less than full track.

A temperature-controlled exhaust assembly with cold trap capability. One embodiment of the exhaust assembly comprises a multi-heater design which allows for independent multi-zone closed-loop temperature control. Another embodiment comprises a compact multi-valve uni-body design incorporating a single heater for simplified closed-loop temperature control. The cold trap incorporates a heater for temperature control at the inlet of the trap to minimize undesirable deposits. One embodiment also comprises a multi-stage cold trap and a particle trap.
