Hurricane Anchor System

US Patent:
7516713, Apr 14, 2009
Filed:
Dec 19, 2007
Appl. No.:
12/002931
Inventors:
John Eugene Franta - Mesa AZ, US
International Classification:
B63B 21/24
US Classification:
114293, 11423026
Abstract:
An anchor system is shown and described. The anchor system consists of a boat plate to which are rotatably attached a plurality of boat shackles. The boat shackles are affixed to boat lines that secure the boat B to the boat plate. The boat plate is attached with a swivel to an anchor plate. The anchor plate has a plurality of anchor shackles to which are attached anchor lines. The anchor lines are then attached to anchors which are secured to the sea or lake bed. This anchor system can be used to secure a boat B in a harbor or in the water to the sea or lake bed. The system as described helps prevent the boat lines or the anchor lines from crossing over one another during undesirable weather thus helping to prevent chafing and premature line failure. This system can help prevent failure of the lines and boat loss or catastrophic damage to the boat B.

US Patent:
8201309, Jun 19, 2012
Filed:
Jul 30, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/221099
Inventors:
John E. Franta - Mesa AZ, US
International Classification:
F16G 11/00
US Classification:
24129R, 24265 AL, 24910
Abstract:
Various connectors are shown and disclosed for attaching rope, cable or synthetic lines to fixed surfaces. Lashing line is used between the connector on the line and the connector attached to the fixed surface. Alternative embodiments are shown that use a cleat or a cam for securing the lashing line for adjusting the overall line length. The lines and connectors can be used for rigging in sailing vessels and for any other application requiring strong lines, connectors and light weight.

Soft Padeye

US Patent:
8540200, Sep 24, 2013
Filed:
Sep 7, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/199692
Inventors:
John E. Franta - Mesa AZ, US
International Classification:

US Classification:
2482319, 248499, 248500, 410101, 411178, 411395
Abstract:
A soft padeye is shown and disclosed. The soft padeye has a spindle that runs through the deck of the ship or boat or other surface. The fastener is then screwed on the shaft and secured against the deck securing the fastener and the spindle to the deck. The spindle has a hole through it allowing the passage of a loop of line. The loop remains above deck while the two ends of the loop are fed through the shaft and tied in a knot that will not pull through the shaft. This allows the user to secure line or other hardware to the loop.

Bridal Plate For Mooring

US Patent:
7455025, Nov 25, 2008
Filed:
Aug 3, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/890143
Inventors:
John Eugene Franta - Mesa AZ, US
International Classification:
B63B 21/00
US Classification:
11423026, 1142302
Abstract:
A bridal plate is shown and disclosed where the bridal plate is secured to a mooring ball or other static object with a jaw. The bridal plate has a plurality of shackles attached to the plate and lines are attached to the shackles. The lines are then secured to the boat or floating object. This allows multiple lines between the floating object and static object and reduces the possibility of the lines crossing and chafing of lines against one another helping to prevent premature failure of the lines or connectors.
