Mutual Authentication Between Wireless Access Devices

US Patent:
2022032, Oct 6, 2022
Filed:
Jun 17, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/807393
Inventors:
- Basking Ridge NJ, US
Young R. CHOI - Belle Mead NJ, US
Samirkumar PATEL - Middlesex NJ, US
Assignee:
Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc. - Basking Ridge NJ
International Classification:
H04W 12/06
H04L 9/40
H04L 9/32
H04W 12/08
H04L 9/08
H04L 9/30
H04W 76/10
H04W 12/04
Abstract:
A first wireless access device, associated with a wireless service provider, establishes a wireless local area network connection with a second wireless access device and receives a certificate including a unique identifier associated with the second wireless access device. The first wireless access device determines whether the second wireless access device is authorized to connect to the first wireless access device. For example, if the certificate is signed by a certificate authority associated with the wireless service provider and the unique identifier appears in a whitelist stored at the first wireless access device, the first wireless access device and the second wireless access device perform a mutual authentication procedure based on one or more ephemeral keys. The first wireless access device provides the second wireless access device with access to a wide area network based on successful completion of the mutual authentication procedure.

International Classification:
H04B 7/06
H04L 5/14
H04L 1/18
H04W 72/04
H04W 84/04
Abstract:
A device may receive location data identifying a location of a network repeater and an identifier of a base station serving the network repeater, and may identify, based on the identifier of the base station, a first set of gNodeBs anchored to the base station. The device may identify, based on the location data, a second set of gNodeBs from a data structure, and may compare the first set of gNodeBs and the second set of gNodeBs to determine a list of gNodeBs included in the first set of gNodeBs and the second set of gNodeBs. The device may rank the list of gNodeBs, based on coverage projection recommendations, to generate a ranked list of gNodeBs, and may receive, from the data structure, configuration parameters for the ranked list of gNodeBs. The device may provide the configuration parameters for the ranked list of gNodeBs to the network repeater.

H04W 88/06
H04W 8/00
Abstract:
A method, device, and computer-readable medium provide for establishing, by a fixed wireless access (FWA) device in a customer premises equipment (CPE) network, a communication channel with a user device; dynamically generating, by the FWA device, a one-time personal identification number (PIN); sharing, by the FWA device, the one-time PIN with the user device; pairing, by the FWA device and based on activation of one-time PIN, the user device via a short-range connection; and performing, by the FWA device using the short-range connection, at least one of setup or installation of one or more devices in the CPE network.

System And Method For Minimizing Transitions Between Core Networks

US Patent:
2021033, Oct 28, 2021
Filed:
Apr 27, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/859012
Inventors:
- Basking Ridge NJ, US
Deepa Jagannatha - Bridgewater NJ, US
Susan Wu Sanders - Bridgewater NJ, US
Lily Zhu - Parsippany NJ, US
Hui Zhao - Marlboro NJ, US
Monte Giles - Chester NJ, US
Samirkumar Patel - Middlesex NJ, US
Xin Wang - Morris Plains NJ, US
International Classification:
H04W 36/08
H04L 5/14
H04W 76/27
H04W 24/10
Abstract:
A method, a system, and a non-transitory storage medium are described in which a core network selection service is provided. The core network selection service may minimize end devices transitioning between core networks of a multi-radio access technology (RAT) radio access network (RAN) based on cell selection priority configurations. The cell selection priority configurations may be provisioned on the end device via control messaging, such as system information block messages. The core network selection service may manage the end devices when in idle mode and in a connected mode.

Systems And Methods For Prioritizing User Equipment Access To Fifth Generation (5G) Ultra-Wideband Networks And Wireless Networks

Abstract:
A user equipment (UE) may establish a wireless connection with a WiFi network, and may perform a measurement associated with a fifth generation (5G) ultra-wideband radio access network. The UE may determine whether the measurement satisfies a signal strength threshold, and may selectively perform a first action or a second action based on whether the measurement satisfies the signal strength threshold. The first action may include providing an indication of an availability of the 5G ultra-wideband radio access network, for display, when the measurement satisfies the signal strength threshold. The second action may include maintaining the wireless connection when the measurement fails to satisfy the signal strength threshold.

Local Area Network Architecture For Supporting Multiple Ip Services

US Patent:
2021009, Apr 1, 2021
Filed:
Sep 30, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/588404

Abstract:
A network device receives an indication to establish a session for an internet protocol (IP) service between a first device and a second device, wherein the network device is part of a local network with the first device and another network device. The network device identifies a service tag to include in a service tag field of a session request. The other network device causes the session request that includes an updated service tag to be provided to the second device. The second device provides a session response with the service tag to the other network device, the other network device updates the session response to include the original service tag and provides an updated session response to the network device. The network device causes the session to be established.
